Master of Technical Education (Instructional Design and Technology) aims to produce graduates who will be equipped with impactful theories, principles and practices of instructional design and technology that could be applied in numerous engaging, attractive and appealing setting such as schools, higher education, government and private sector.

PROGRAM EDUCATION OBJECTIVES
PEO 1

Demonstrate intellectuality to generate new knowledge creatively in the field of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in line with the needs of the national education and training sector. (Knowledge; and Practical Skills)

PEO 2

Analyze and critically synthesize sources of knowledge and practice of ethical professionals to solve significant problems in Technical and Vocational Training Education (TVET). (Values, Attitudes and Professionalism)

PEO 3

Planning and implementing innovative projects, research initiatives and writing dissertations, theses and reports for the purpose of building and applying the knowledge of Technical and Vocational Training Education (TVET) for the benefit of the profession and society as a whole. (Problem Solving and Scientific Skills)

PEO 4

Demonstrate the ability in generating and imparting Technical and Vocational Training Education (TVET) knowledge effectively through lifelong learning and entrepreneurship practices. (Information Management Skills and Lifelong Learning)

ADMISSION REQUIREMENT

The general, specific and special conditions of admission for this program are:

Bachelor's Degree with Honors from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia or from any institution of higher learning recognized by the UTHM Senate or other qualification equivalent to a Bachelor's degree with experience in a related field recognized by the UTHM Senate.

OR

Accreditation of Prior Experiental Learning, APPEL A, Level 7 

The basic qualification requirements including the MUET Band for this program are:

  • Minimum CPA is 2.50, and
  • English Language Requirement is MUET Band 3 or TOELF 500 or IELTS 5.0.

Exemption from the English language requirement will be given to international candidates or students who graduate in Malaysia.

Prerequisite requirements and skills as well as other conditions/qualifications required for this program are:

Have a professional qualification (Education) either at the certificate, diploma, or bachelor's level recognized by the UTHM Senate.

The requirement of students to take any special courses for those who do not meet the admission criteria, general and specific requirements as per the Senate approval for this program is irrelevant.

The OKU category accepted into this program are non-disabled candidates who have difficulty with practical work and learning and teaching activities.

Full time : Minimum 3 semester (1.5 years) and Maximum 6 semester (3 years)

Part time: Minimum 5 semester (2.5 years) and Maximum 10 semester (5 years)
