  • OVERVIEW

    Master in Technical and Vocational (Research) is designed to be in line with the vision and mission of the University. This program aims to produce skilled educators/trainers, who are able to confront challenges faced during their experiences in teaching, managing and supervising students, by familiarising them with relevant, appropriate and significant research-based knowledge in different areas of education. Through this program, graduates are expected to become part of the educator in TVET and skilled worker which is capable in driving the growth of the country accordance with the government aspirations. This will be done with the course emphasizing new technologies, which also include theoretical and practical skills. In addition, this program will also expose students to a variety of activities that can increase the generic skills and personality.

    PROGRAM EDUCATION OBJECTIVES
    PEO 1 To synthesize knowledge critically and anatically for the well-being of society and national development.
    PEO 2 To analyze, synthesize and solve problems based on research ethical inquiry.
    PEO 3 To plan, coordinate and implement programs / projects creatively and innovatively, for the advancement of the profession and the needs of the community.
    PEO 4 To generate and disseminate knowledge effectively and be responsible for cultivating lifelong learning and entrepreneurship.
    PEO 5 To lead and participate in the development of knowledge and in fighting for intellectual property rights and appreciation of the original work of others, maintaining plagiarism and academic misconduct in the field of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET)
    PEO 6 To conduct ethics and integrity and fights for intellectual property, copy right and free from plagiarism.

    PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOME
    PLO 1 Mastering knowledge in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
    PLO 2 Apply scientific and critical thinking methods as well as problem solving skills in Technical and Vocational Education and Training(TVET).
    PLO 3 Apply specific skills in the field of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) to meet the needs of national employment.
    PLO 4 Demonstrate the ability to lead and work cooperatively in groups to build new knowledge in the research field of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
    PLO 5 Communicate effectively through verbal speech, discussion and scientific writing.
    PLO 6 Analyze and plan with colleagues based on educational and training needs by utilizing ICT knowledge and skills in the TVET management process and cultivate lifelong learning for self-development.
    PLO 7 Appreciate the professional role and ethics of an educator in meeting the social, cultural and environmental needs.

  • LIST OF COURSES

    1. Foundation of Research Method

     

  • Applicant must have a Bachelor Degree with Honours from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) or any other higher learning institution recognised by the Senate with cumulative grade points average (CPA) as follows:

    • Research Programme 2.75 ; Except for KIT - Master of Information Technology (CPA 3.00)

    • Mixed Mode Programme 2.75

    • Coursework Programme 2.50 ; Except for MPA - Master of Business Administration (CPA 2.75)

    *The above mentioned list of CPA is the general minimum qualification need to be fulfilled. Please refer to the specific requirement for the academic programme to be applied

    Application from applicant who possess a Bachelor Degree or equivalent not meeting the minimum CPA can be accepted subjected to minimum years of working experience in related field

    *(ONE (1) year working experience equivalence to 0.1 CPA)

    Applicants should fulfill the minimum English proficiency level of either:

    • IELTS (academic overall band score); 5.0 or

    • Overall TOEFL score (TOEFL paper based ; 500 or TOEFL iBT; 60 ) or

    • MUET; Band 3

    * Except for Master of Business Administration (TOEFL paper based 550 / TOEFL iBT 80 / IELTS 5.0 / MUET band 4.0)

    Applicants who fulfill the academic qualification from Institution of higher learning throughout Malaysia that is recognized by the Senate are eligible to apply for exemption from the English language requirements

    Applicants who do not fulfill the minimum English language requirement but graduated from universities listed as the English Speaking Countries are eligible to apply for exemption from the English language requirements

  • MODE: FULL RESEARCH

    FULL TIME:

    Min 3 Semesters (1.5 Years)

    Max 6 Semesters (3 Years)

    PART TIME:

    Min 4 Semesters (2 Years)

    Max 10 Semesters (5 Years)

    *International student are eligible to do FULL TIME only

  • Master of Technical & Vocational Education (Research) is recognized by Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA) (MQA/FA5856).
